Android Introduction

Android is an open-source software package and linux based operating system for mobile devices.

In 2003, four
technology experts Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears and Chris White  established Android Inc. The Android team worked to create an operating system for mobile devices which could be aware of both a user’s location and their personal preferences, Originally intended for camera but shifted to smart phones later because of low market for camera only. 

In August 2005, Android very quietly became the property of Google  and later the OHA (Open Handset Alliance).In 2007, Google announces the development of android OS.One year later in 2008, HTC launched the first android mobile.

Java language is mainly used to write the android code and android app can be developed in C/C++ also using android NDK (Native Development Kit)
